Staying up past my bedtime AGAIN, proscandalating. Only now I'm downloading all the music that I've Shazam-ed in each episode because it's so awesome.

Dissecting plays. I'd almost forgotten how much I enjoy it... [rethinks dramaturgy as a career option]

Went with 5-year-old Lottie to Build-A-Bear this afternoon. Wonder how many parents are tempted to record subliminal messages to put inside their kids' bears?!?

Is there anything better than a cafe that knows too cook the bacon until it's almost charred? I think not. Thanks Grigson & Orr!

Clutching at straws in the skin stakes... let's hope this ridiculously-priced serum does the trick.

Aaaaaand, it's back on to antibiotics I go for another 4 months. Stupid rosacea, turning my face into a bacterial pizza again.

First of my Book Depository purchases arrived today... hopefully will have all of them by the weekend!
Tuesday, 23 July 2013
Binge-buying books from The Book Depository... something I haven't done since I got my last tax return.

Maggie: "If it goes to voicemail after two rings, they saw your name and sent you to voicemail. Four rings, they're not there; two rings, they don't want to talk to you."
Sloan: "Alright, I have to retrace my entire life now..."
As do I, Sloan. As do I.
It's Monday Newsroom time!

Pretty much every show I've been watching for the last month is DC-centric. A desire to return to my first home-away-from-home, perhaps?
Saturday, 20 July 2013
Slava's Snowshow. Utterly enchanting. There were bubbles!! (I love bubbles)
Friday, 19 July 2013
Continuing the big week with dinner and more drinking. A LOT more drinking, I expect. Oh, my liver.
Thursday, 18 July 2013
Ballet Revolution at the Art Centre.
So shite we left at interval.
In other news, Emmy nominations are out and yet again, Parks & Rec are overlooked in favour of the tired old offerings from Modern Family and Big Bang Theory. Emmys committee, you're idiots.

Margaritas, Mexican and fun times with Lulu. Way to go Wednesday.
Tuesday, 16 July 2013
Truffle Mac'n'Cheese. Now THAT'S a side dish. Thank you Morris Jones (and Carmen & Debs).
Monday, 15 July 2013
A steampunk version of Cinderella, sung in English. Bonkers. And not in a good way. Still, it was funnier than Moonshadow. And half as long.
Sunday, 14 July 2013
RIP Cory... even though Glee long ago jumped the shark for me, today's news made me really sad.

A piriformis muscle that is spasming so badly I've barely slept in days has made me so cranky and exhausted that I'm ready for über-strength painkillers and bed at 8:10pm. FML.
Thursday, 11 July 2013
Nothing like spending the day participating in a play reading to revitalise the creative juices. Now awaiting the arrival of one of my most creative friends for a catch up dinner. Happy Thursday!

Scandal, where have you been all my life? Soooo addicted.
But then, it's another show all about DC politics... why wouldn't I be? I'm so predictable... ;)

Monday, 8 July 2013
A broken heater in the bedroom in the middle of winter? Not ideal. Going old school with hot water bottles...

Reasons I love Sundays at the Queen Vic Market:
1. Every cheese purveyor in the deli hall gives you free samples. We're talking PROPER cheese. French. Swiss. Greek. None of that crappy supermarket stuff.
2. There are no less than five stalls which sell wine, all of whom are happy for you to taste as many wines as you like, with no obligation to buy. You can get drunk very easily. Hence the need for the cheese.
3. Lamb bureks. They are the absolute shiz.

The Kennett Curse is alive a well. Sigh. On the upside, I've done my tax and I should be getting a cracking refund.
Friday, 5 July 2013
Well that was a long day... thank god I can have a sleep in tomorrow!
Thursday, 4 July 2013
Finally replaced the kettle. My joy at not having to boil a saucepan of water to make a cup of tea knows no bounds.

Better to say nothing, or tell the truth? Today's conundrum...
Tuesday, 2 July 2013
Have rediscovered the joys of an 80 cent packet of jello as a way of getting my daily sugar fix.*
*Also known as "Can't Afford Chocolate Until I Get Paid Tomorrow"

7.45pm isn't too early to go to bed is it? I'm knackered. Plus, by the time I potter around getting ready for bed, it'll be 8.30pm.
Sheesh. When did I turn into such a nanna?
