Switched work days so I can spend all day tomorrow finishing this goddamned exam. Ugh.

OK, so a bunch of reading done, but very little writing. Really pulling out all the procrastination stops on this one... ugh.
Friday, 27 May 2016
Another day, another lack of words completed for my exam. Tomorrow I am chaining myself to the desk and blocking all social media.*
* Really. I am. I need to ace this exam and I'm feeling woefully underprepared.**
** This is entirely my own fault for being a procrastinator.

My back looks like the practice board for a tennis player... my acupuncturist went a little overboard with the cupping.

Procrastination, procrastination, procrastination...
If there were degrees in procrastination, I'd have a goddamned PhD by now.

Working directly with the students is definitely the part of my job I enjoy the most and find the most rewarding. Unfortunately, it's not technically part of my job. Argh.
Monday, 23 May 2016
Now that I have my binge watch of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt out of the way, it's time to study.

Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures is a fascinating companion piece to Patti Smith's Just Kids. The guy was truly a fascinating individual. Narcissistic tosser, but fascinating nonetheless.

Hilarious night with my clayton's cousins for a 50th birthday. We haven't spent that much time together as adults, but we can pick up right where we left off every time.
Friday, 20 May 2016
Slogged my ass off on this assignment all day and just hit the 'submit' button. Now for an evening of wine, trash TV and not thinking about the take-home exam until Sunday.
Thursday, 19 May 2016
Another crazy, hectic day at work... leaving me too knackered to come home and work on my assignment which is due TOMORROW.
Also, the tradies next door started scraping paint off the adjoining wall to my bedroom at 6am this morning. SIX. A. M. Fuckers.

Remember yesterday's mantra for today?
Yeah.
Pity I didn't.
I did however, have a great tutorial which helped no end with exam prep. But the exam's not for 2 weeks and I've an essay due on Friday.

Got home from work shattered... no uni work done as a consequence.
Tomorrow I'm going to have to work my arse off.
This will be my mantra:

As a (one-month early) birthday present, Goldos took me to see one of my feminist heroes - the amazing Gloria Steinem - being interviewed by the awesome Virginia Trioli.
IN-FUCKING-CREDIBLE.
I also got an autographed copy of her book.
Best. Early. Birthday. Present.

Totally missed Eurovision because I've got a uni deadline. Suspect my Twitter followers are grateful, after the past few years of continuous commentary.
Saturday, 14 May 2016
Smashing through the final tasks for my writing short fiction subject... now I just need to write the damn story and exegesis. If I can get the bulk of it done by tomorrow afternoon, I can watch Eurovision instead of just following it vicariously through the tweets of all my friends.

ABC (America) cancelled Agent Carter, DAMN THEM.
First they killed her off in Captain America: Civil War without telling us who she married and then they don't renew the show, so we'll never find out whether it IS actually Sousa.
Grrrr. Still, as Peggy says:
Screw you, ABC.

Damn but my new acupuncturist is good... I was in there for well over an hour - cupping, moxibustion, needles... the works! And all for the price of a standard consult.

It's totally weirding me out seeing Axle Whitehead play an inhuman on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. A bogan, Aussie, beer-drinking, inhuman. I mean, I'm pretty sure Hellfire wasn't actually a bogan Aussie, but whatevs.
My weird-outedness is tempered however, by seeing the delightful John Hannah playing a nutty scientist. DELIGHTFUL.

When you disagree with colleagues about which shows to program and they insist on having their way despite the show being dreadful...

Why is it that Mondays always kill me and I collapse in bed exhausted by 9pm, despite having a mountain of study to do?
Sunday, 8 May 2016
So we're off to the polls again on 2 July.
As much as I hate the LNP, Labor and the Greens aren't inspiring me much. As for Turnbull vs Shorten, it's a case of 'Fifty Shades of Middle-Aged, Straight, White Men'. Awful. The pair of them.

How on earth is it 5pm already? I feel like I've only just got home from brunch.
Another day of study thwarted.

Well that was a complete waste of a day. Dicking around doing sod all.
Except laundry. I did get my laundry done.
Whoop dee doo.

Was supposed to go to a Dance performance tonight, but could. not. be. arsed.
Funny how if it's a free ticket I feel zero guilt for cancelling.

Today I finally met someone who I had been pen-pals with as a teenager, who I'd not been in touch with since I was about 20, and now happens to be living in Melbs (incidentally, working in one of my dream jobs).
Social media can be a very cool thing.

So, Georgia, the amazing singer from the wedding I MC'd in March made it through the blind auditions on The Voice - all four judges turned around. I'm not surprised - she's incredible! Guess I'll have to start watching. Although, Delta. Ugh.
Monday, 2 May 2016
Early night tonight - hopefully won't get woken up three times like I did last night. Ugh.
Sunday, 1 May 2016
Actually churned through a bunch of uni work today... although there's still a bunch more to do. #LitDegree #NeverEndingReading
