The depression caused by seeing so many wealthy, designer-pram-pushing, Gucci-clad, Mercedes-driving thirty-somethings in my electorate shunning every How To Vote card bar the Liberal Party's was tempered somewhat by the number of baby boomers and elderly accepting my Greens HTV card to the exclusion of all others.

Oh and by my upstairs neighbour (he of the loud, weird music) ripping both the ALP and LNP a new one over their treatment of asylum seekers and slashing of foreign aid. THAT was a joyous thing to witness.

Slightly stressed about what tomorrow will bring... and the consequences of a public who choose poorly.

I'm so disillusioned with Australian politics that I'm contemplating moving to Sweden.  

What say you, Lotta?  May I come hang out in your wonderful country for a few years while mine goes to hell in a handbasket?

It's official. I've turned into a sewing nerd.  I popped into Lincraft on my lunch break, bought more material, came home after work and continued sewing until nearly midnight.

Now if I could just learn to sew something a little more advanced than cushion covers...

The thrill I get from leaving work at 5pm, jumping on a tram, watching the sun begin to set on the journey home and walking in the front door by 5.30pm is something I could get used to.  Easily.

A catch up with three wonderful friends (in person and via Skype), plus the satisfaction of finally embarking on my living-room-renovation project, leads me to declare this a VERY good weekend.
